we love horses
Welcome to Tiny Pony Co.!
We are Denver + Courtney Maddux, a husband and wife team living life in warm, sunny Jacksboro, TX. Our happy little world revolves around our horses and our pups.
I (Courtney) grew up in Georgia on a horse farm and began riding and training in multiple disciplines at a young age. The structure of eventing and the wildness of galloping bareback down trails and through wide open fields have always been the place I feel most alive - and most at home. Over the years, I have owned several small businesses and lived all over the country - through all of this, horses have been a constant in my world - their presence woven into the fabric of my life, through every chapter. Now, the ability to work with and learn from these sacred animals every day is the most gratifying season yet.
Denver was raised in Arizona where his grandfather owned a small ranch. He also began riding around the dusty desert as a youngster. His career in tech took him all over the world, until he eventually landed in Australia, working as a CEO. During those years, he owned Dutch Warmblood broodmares that he worked with at liberty as a form a self-therapy to help clear his mind after the long days and high demands of the corporate world.
Together we have created Tiny Pony Company to bring you good, honest horses - marrying Denver’s natural talent for groundwork and photography with my passion for connection based training and riding. Every horse brought into Tiny Pony Co. is chosen with intention - they each become a part of our family and leave with a piece of our hearts. We work hard to prepare them for successful futures as trusted, forever partners for the folks who take them home. Throughout their time with us, they are given miles, manners, boundaries and most importantly, lots and lots of love.
We are here to answer your questions openly and honestly. If you know what you are looking for in a horse, reach out - we just might have the perfect match for you coming through our program. We look forward to sharing our horses with you.
Let’s ride!
